Abstract
Crohn’s disease is an idiopathic chronic transmural
inflammatory condition of the intestine. Common
complications include intestinal obstruction,
internal and
external fistulae, and spontaneous abcess formation. Intra
abdominal abscess affects 7-28% of patients with Crohn’s
disease. This discussion will provide an overview of intra
abdominal abscess in Crohn’s disease focusing on risk
factors, clinical features, evaluation and management.
