After a full-time laboratory Ph.D. in immunology and 14 months as a Visiting Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School, I now function as a senior consultant at a tertiary referral IBD-center (Skane University Hospital, Sweden). As an Associate Professor, I manage a research group with five PhD-students. The main lines of research are A) Pathobiology and immunology of IBD, and B) Tools for optimizing the clinical management of IBD, including therapeutic strategies, disease monitoring, eHealth, prediction of therapy responses, and new therapies. In addition, I am involved in C) projects regarding systemic inflammatory diseases and the role of the gut in rheumatological diseases; and I have an interest in D) the management of side-effects from Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor cancer therapeutics.
