The objective of the paper is to gain a deeper
understanding of the levitating behavior of the disc type ultrasonic
stator for possible application on moving object. For the purpose,
some axial vibration measurements were made to investigate
levitation motion on the stator surface and explore its possible
application on the linear, surfing and shaft types of bearing less
ultrasonic motor. Dynamic response also was investigated and
compared with some analytical results. The result showed that the
levitation capacity decreased with driving frequency increase.
